Replenish & Repair Your Skin After Sun Exposure
With summer now upon us, who doesn’t love a little fun in the sun? When the beach beckons and the pool pulls you in, stay smart and protected with all the right practices for a safe time in the sun. The sun can have damaging effects on your skin, which is why we need to do our best to protect it.
That being said, despite our best efforts, sometimes we can still get sunburnt. To help replenish and repair sunburnt skin, follow our simple after-sun tips.
1. Take a Cool Shower
Salt water and chlorine droplets on the skin can magnify the sun’s rays and dehydrate it. Have a cool shower when you get home which will help to cool the skin down almost instantly.
2. Water, Water Everywhere
When it comes to your body, Mother Nature knows best! It may sound simple but drink plenty of water, both during your time out in the sun and later on in the evening. It’s not only good for your health but super important when re-hydrating your skin.
3. Protect Your Pout
The sun’s rays are drying on the delicate lip tissue. To comfort and protect your lips start with a hydrating balm with aloe vera and reapply regularly when outdoors.
